Welcome

Welcome to Next Gen Living & Learning 2.0 at Duke!

We know that the living and learning experience is one of the most important parts of a student’s college experience, and it has been a cornerstone of the Duke undergraduate experience for nearly a century. Over the past few years, Duke has taken up this topic once again, first with the Next Generation Living and Learning Experience (NGLLE) Task Force, and now with the Next Gen Living & Learning 2.0 Committee. Our goal this year is to build a joyful and intentional 4-year residential experience that promotes growth, meaningful inclusion, and health, and that is distinctly Duke

On this website, you’ll learn more about the origins of this committee, its charge and membership, and how you can lend your voice to this important effort. And be sure to look back here for updates along the way. We’re excited to welcome you into creating the future of residential living and learning at Duke.

Sincerely,

Mary Pat McMahon, Vice Provost for Student Affairs
Gary Bennett G’02, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education
John Blackshear, Dean of Students, 2.0 Committee Co-Chair
Linda Zhang T’20, 2.0 Committee Co-Chair
